CIBSE candidate Lewis Turner has won second place in the REHVA student competition held in Brussels last month.
Turner, who has just completed his MSc in Building Services Engineering at Leeds Beckett University, came runner-up with his paper Efficacy of air purification to control infection in NHS hospitals.
The research was presented alongside nine other finalists from around Europe to a jury representing the breadth of REHVA’s membership.
The winner was Bas Turk of Eindhoven University of Technology (representing TVVL, Netherlands) who presented his paper Quantifying the potential of overheating countermeasures on a humanitarian shelter through measurements and building performance simulations.
A summary of the paper by Tim Dwyer is published in the June CIBSE Journal.
