A new publication focusing on calculating embodied carbon in building services for the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region has been published.
TM65: Embodied carbon in building services: a calculation methodology for Australia and New Zealand provides country-specific assumptions to be used when carrying out embodied carbon calculations for building services equipment when no environmental product declarations are available.
It is an addendum to 2021’s TM65 Embodied carbon in building services equipment: a calculation methodology, which is targeted primarily at engineers and consultants working in the UK, and has been led by the Green Building Council of Australia and CIBSE Australia and New Zealand.
TM65 is a simple, cost-effective and consistent methodology for approximating the embodied emissions of MEP equipment, and allows for aggregated data to be collected for benchmarking purposes. CIBSE will roll out a series of technical sessions for the ANZ region to assist with the application of this methodology.
