Professor Catherine Noakes, professor of environmental engineering for buildings at the University of Leeds, and Tom Hopton, CIBSE Engineer of the Year 2020, have been announced as speakers at the Building Performance Awards 2021.
Professor Noakes, an expert in airborne infection transmission, sits on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies advising the government on its response to the pandemic, and was made an OBE for her ‘services to the COVID-19 response’.
Hopton, an associate at Buro Happold, has been a lead engineer for many award-winning projects with innovative design at their core – from the UK’s first large-scale horse-manure biomass system to the restoration of a 900-year-old building into a modern training campus.
Make sure you register for the free CIBSE Building Performance Awards, taking place virtually on 25 February.
The awards will also include the new COVID-19 Achievement Award.
